Fascinated by perfumery, Patrick Mauboussin, then head of the brand in the 90s, suggested creating a "jewel perfume", highlighting French expertise in the field. The idea of the then CEO became an unexpected and touching attention when the Sultan of Brunei was presented with a series of perfumes, each bottle bearing his name. One thing led to another, and Mauboussin entered the perfume business. The first bottle, in the shape of a tetrahedron, symbolizes the crystallization of a rough diamond, an obvious shape for a jeweler offering a gift to women.
Since then, Mauboussin fragrances have followed in the footsteps of jewelry, noble, refined, intense and imbued with the brand's trademark touch of fantasy. Each fragrance creation has its origins in the essence of a jewel. Its shape, allure and message are magnified by a fragrance, like a perfumed tribute.
