How many eyeshadow palettes can a woman have in her make-up bag? There are so many shades available, so many styles to try out, that it's safe to say there must be at least four types of eyeshadow in the box.
Because you need "nude" make-up, make-up for work, make-up for evenings out, make-up for special occasions... Because, of course, in general, a woman will wear an everyday make-up, with her favorite eyeshadow, generally in light, all-purpose shades. But in the evening? For a party? How do you decide between a palette for a smoky eye and a set of colorful, almost glittery shadows? And why not have a palette of scarlet red, hmm?
The problem is, the choice is so vast that it's all a question of what you want at the time, or what you're wearing. That's why we started by wondering how many eyeshadows a kit could hold, and whether there were any "must-haves" (like the set for a good smoky).
Why is it better to opt for a palette than for individual shadows, anyway? Because it allows you to have all the colors accompanying the main color, intended to support it and make an effective gradient.
That's why the big brands put together whole looks in boxes of several shades: so you can recreate professional make-up looks at home.
