What Exactly Is a Vegan Fragrance?

A vegan fragrance contains no animal-derived ingredients or substances. Additionally, it is not tested on animals and follows an ethical and moral production process. Good to know: Animal testing for cosmetic products (including fragrances) and their ingredients has been banned in the European Union since 2009!

Is a vegan fragrance always "cruelty-free"?

The term "cruelty-free" means that a product has not been tested on animals. A vegan fragrance is always cruelty-free, but not every cruelty-free fragrance is necessarily vegan! Thanks to European legislation, products sold in France carry these designations. However, be cautious: a fragrance purchased, for example, during a trip to Asia may be subject to different regulations.

Is a vegan fragrance also organic?

Not necessarily! A vegan fragrance can still contain synthetic ingredients and does not have to be organically produced.

  • Your personal preference: Do you prefer fresh, sweet, spicy, or powdery scent notes?
  • The occasion: Are you looking for a fragrance for everyday wear or a special occasion?
